3 Tips for Getting Your Ex Back Easier

Breakups aren’t much fun to go through, but with a little luck and perseverance it can be relatively simple to get your life back together. Getting your ex back can be almost easy if you just have the right plan, which is why I’ve written out a few tips to help you out during this tough time.

Tip One: The “Take Me Back -Attack.” Right after a breakup, this is usually first impulse. You know what I’m talking about here…swamping your ex with attention and being so aggressively gun-ho about fixing your problems and getting back together that you end up driving him further away. My advice on this is simple: don’t do it! Back off, give him some space…it’ll help you both!

Tip Two: “Drunk Dialing.” It’s 3:00 AM. You’re lonely…the pain of not having him is almost too much to bear, so you toy with the idea of calling him up just to hear his voice because you miss him SO much. I’m not trying to ridicule your feelings, but I cannot express to you how much this is a bad idea. I call it “Drunk Dialing” because it usually happens after you’ve had a few drinks, which can let you get more emotional and can work it into your head that doing this is a GOOD idea…which it isn’t.

Tip Three: “Soap-Opera Splurge.” Not too hard to figure out what this means…this is my term for the classic romantic-comedy scene where the heartbroken girl bawls on her couch in front of her TV with Kleenex stuffed in her nostrils eating a mixture of Ben & Jerry’s and her own tears. This isn’t healthy. It isn’t sexy. It isn’t going to get Your Ex Back. Put down the half-gallon of Chunky Munky, dry up your tears, and turn off The Young and the Restless. It’s time to get up and start actively trying to win him back!
