Everyone says that they need space from each other and eventually they will get back together. They really love each other. The guy told me he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life before they broke up. He says he plans to get back with her when the time is right but what if he doesn’t and her hopes are up for nothing. What can I say or do to make them realize they need each other? A quote a song anything?! This girl is like my little sister, she means the world to me. Help me please.

Let them work out their relationship. If you try to influence the results you’ll eventually be hated by both parties.

She was the one that broke up with me and said she needed to fix some personal issues and that it had nothing to do with me and she still loved me etc. Before me she was a virgin set on waiting until she got married in order to have sex but after we dated for awhile she decided that she was truly in love with me and wanted to go farther so we did. Anyways right after we broke up I tried to talk to her about getting back together but then gave her space. She started talking to me a little over a week ago and I found out that one night when she was drunk at a party she ended up hooking up with some dude and did everything except sex. It hurt to hear that worse than anything I ever heard. I know she was single at the time but I dont understand how she did it that quickly, she told me that it was a lame attempt to help her get over breaking up and that the dude means absolutely nothing to her. She told me she regrets it everyday and almost cries about it everyday as well. Unfortunately remorse still doesnt change the facts that it happened. I still love her very much and she still feels the same way about me but I can’t get the picture out of my head. I think about it constantly throughout the day and it haunts me. After we broke up I continued to go out, and several girls made advances towards me but to no avail because I was surely not ready to hook up with someone else when I still loved my ex. I don’t know if we got back together if I would really be able to put it behind me, I feel like it would always be a taint to our relationship even though shes the most amazing girl Ive met in this lifetime yet.

One time earlier in our relationship, maybe a month after the year mark, I broke up with her and she took it very badly. It was only for about 5 days before I realized I was making a mistake, during that time the same guy asked her to a movie and she went. This time she didnt even kiss him or anything, she said he tried to hold her hand but she refused. After the movie she told him to drop her off and she said she just cried in her room about going with him and the hurt of me leaving her all night.

Anyways, since then (about 4 weeks ago) she said she hasnt done anything with anyone and has only gone to one party since then because her friends talked her into it. She told me that she made it clear to the guy she hooked up with that he means nothing to her and that it will not happen again even if we stay broken up for the duration of the summmer shes moving back to the town where we goto college and im staying home). All the stuff she told me sounds nice and all but it still doesnt change the facts, and regardless of if we were together or not while it happened, it still hurts like hell and I cant get it out of my mind. Now shes talking about getting back together and I really dont know what to do. I know it was pretty long but just some thoughtful input or advice would be greatly appreciated seeing as how this situation is all I can think about 24/7.

Hay want the truth? She’s wild and a whore! It happens, how to beat it? Be more manly, don’t be all in love with a girl until she shows you she’s worth it! Give her 90 days at least next time! And don’t worry about getting over the skank, your emotions will follow your head as you go out and have fun, don’t date until you’re healed, but have fun meet other girls and take it slow with the heart thing, geesh!

I went out a couple of weeks after the split, and got very drunk and slept with his mate. Afterwards, we both agreed that it was just a drunk thing, and decided that my ex did not need to know as it didn’t really mean anything.
Me and the ex were just starting to see each other, and sleep with each other, while we were sorting our problems out. We were nearly ready to get back and try again.
However, the guy that I had slept with started to say that my ex needed to know before someone else would tell him. I got so scared that I went round to tell my ex, my ex is now calling me easy and untrustworthy even though I was single when this happened. I told him that I was drunk, and that I was an idiot and it meant nothing, but he doesn’t know what to think.

I feel like I have lost him because I have now made too many mistakes. I have been an idiot, no denying that. I give him up, then tell him I have made a mistake, sleep with his mate, and just as we work things out I have to tell him what I have done. What do I do? Am I really easy? This has all happened in a matter of 2 months.

You weren’t together so you have every right to sleep with someone else. You told him the truth and honesty is good in a relationship, if he cant accept that you were drunk when this happened and that it means nothing than he is not worth it.

He was like the bad guy in town, the tattooed one and stuff… we’ve been together 5 months ago for about 2 months and in our last week he treated me like shit… he used to get drunk all the time and tell everyone where how and when we had sex… I fell in love for the person I thought he were in the first few weeks, though i liked him a lotttt even before since i know him for about 2 yrz. I talked to his mom who told me that was completely true.

Now we’re back together… The thing is, I am obviously scared. He also used to hit me before… we were something like Rihanna feat Eminem’s – love the way you lie, music video…

What should I do? I don’t wanna let him think I’m the same puppy he can use for cash and sex…

Well, you must be into drama and abuse, or you’re stupid, or both. There’s no other way to see it. He will continue to treat you the same, and you’re being naive if you think otherwise. He’s been straight up diagnosed with a personality disorder. That was your cue to say, "hey thank god now I know it wasn’t me all along, it was his crazy a**" and move on. Instead YOU walked right back into it. You pursued him! Do you know what that means? It means from this point on, the only one you have to blame for whatever you go through with him is yourself! So when it happens, remember that…it’s your own fault. Maybe you need to go get checked by a mental physician. You must be just as crazy as he is to want to stay with him and think something good will come from it…

Doubt built in my head and eventually built in his, he ended the relationship and soon after, we found out what happened. My ex decided to stick to the decision because he saw our upcoming school year possibly breaking us apart due to busy schedules; his final year + thesis and me beginning graduate school.

After everything that has happened, he said he still wants to remain friends. We never fought- things were almost perfect until this happened! Because of the drama, he said he loves me but is not in love with me… even though it wasn’t my fault. He needed to block everything away and unfortunately, I was included. He told me come November/December, if we didn’t find someone new and our schedules proved we weren’t too busy for one another, and he feel back in love with me, there’s a chance of picking back up where we left off. I love the guy and don’t want to nor do I have intentions of moving on- he is my soul mate and I’m not settling. I know this for a fact!

Here is the tricky part. There is a girl lingering around in the background who is working way too hard to get in his pants and in a relationship.. and while I am never quick to judge, I do not care for her and fear he is going to get hurt. When her facebook was public, she was rude and always knocking people down, she hooked up with one of his fraternity brothers, tried hooking up with a second but he didn’t want anything to do with her and now she moved on to my ex, and lastly- she admitted to having a std. These few things make me disgusted and make me wonder what he possibly sees in her? On top of that, she is always the poor helpless victim of guys feeling her up. Don’t you think with her past, obviously she is doing something to ask for it. For example, you don’t sleep in the same bed with a guy, have sex and share with the world he felt you up during your sleep. I mean, I’m sure he felt you up an hour or so before that so whats the difference? And also, you tell everyone another brother felt you up when you were drunk, you knew what was going on, yet why did you keep returning back to his room 3-5 times that night?

A. I love him, B. I dont want to see him get hurt…. and C. Of course I want us to get back together.

What do I do?

Normally I would play hard to get, forcing him to miss me and crawl back in the past. However, I can’t help but to think that’s a bad move seeing he’ll never miss me with this girl always talking to him in the background. Should I move forth with the friendship, put the sadness away and focus on all happy conversations hoping he’ll fall back in love and give it another chance? Should I move on in general, despite not wanting to?

Lastly, I told him if they were to get together- everything we had would be gone including a friendship. Normally I’m not like that but knowing she had or may have another std disgusts me and there is no way I’ll be able to look at him the same. He deserves so much better, despite only being apart for 2 months away from me. I would def. say she is a rebound and a terrible one.

Im in a similar situation.
I think the main thing to realise is what he told you- that he loves you but isn’t in love with you. If that’s the case, either he is in shock or he didn’t love you strongly enough in the first place.
You don’t fall out of love that easily with someone who is your soulmate. I think he’s making a mistake letting you go, I mean there aren’t many women in the world who will devote themselves and care for him as much as you have. If he does reject you in November/December, you will end up being the one that got away, in a few years time he’ll be out of another relationship and realise that nothing compared to what you and him had, but by then probably you’ll be with someone else.
I hope he comes to his senses by winter time. If not, then let him sleep with her, catch the s.t.d, be full of regret and you will have met a great guy who treats you the way you deserve.

is it like a faith?

well when i was 14 (im 20 now) i dated this guy for a month. i broke up with him for my ex so it obviously classed as a nasty break up. about 2 almost 3 years later we got back together and were together for 2 years and had 2 kids. if it weren’t for those two kids i would regret being with him for a second time.

on the other hand, i have a friend who dated someone for a few months and it didn’t work out and then 2 years later they dated again and were happy together for about 3 years.

it happens sometimes. sometimes it works better when your both more mature and sometimes it’s just a train wreck.
